President Goodluck Jonathan has announced the renaming of the University of Lagos after the acclaimed winner of the June 12 1993 Presidential election, late Chief M.K.O Abiola.
Announcing the decision in his Democracy Day broadcast on Tuesday morning, President Jonathan said it was meant to honour Abiola for his contribution to growth of democracy in the country.
However, thousands of students of the University of Lagos came out in protest over the change of name of the school announced this morning in a nation wide broadcast by President Goodluck Jonathan to mark this year's Democracy Day.
Notwithstanding there's MKO Polytechnic, MKO stadium, MKO Streets, MKO Cultural Centre etc
How about renaming Silverbird galleria??? LMFAO
