The ill-fated flight Abuja en-route Lagos was four minutes from the landing when it crashed into the heavily populated Iju area of Lagos.
These words hits me hard each time i read it. Reminding me of how powerful time is and can be.
...
In just 4 minutes the plane would have landed safely.
Just 4 minutes and there wont be any need to mourn.
Just 4 minutes and families would receive their loved ones at the airport
Just 4 minutes of thorough safety checks and the crash would be averted and lives saved.
Just 4 minutes of convincing the airline management not to fly that plane
Just 4 minutes and I wont be seating here unable to comprehend how on earth do Nigerians settle for less.
The flight was over 25 years. In less than a year the same flight would not be suitable for commercial use by International aviation standards for flights over 30 years.
How many of us would travel in a car over 29 years yet flights over 30 years are flown in this country.
I can recall in 2010, the Nigerian government banned all use of aircraft over 20 years of age, so what happened to this ban? Did they just un-ban it over night?
Evidently in just 4 minutes a lot would have changed. Now history has it that on June 3, 2012 a Dana airline MD-83 flight 0992 carrying 153 passengers crashed into the heavily populated Iju area of Lagos four minutes from the landing.
Time for Nigerians to Rethink in 4 minutes.
In 4 minutes, the Nigerian president can declare war against corruption.
If it took less than four minutes to withdraw the Dana airline license, then in 4 minutes the president can order the arrest of all corrupt civil servants mentioned in the fuel subsidy probe.
We all know there is a natural cycle in life where every corrupt practice has a multiplier effect that transcends one sector of the economy to another.
In 4 minutes I will stop writing because the Power holding company might cut off electricity.
ReThink Naija!!!
Now what do you think?
