Abul-Qaga, Spokesperson for Jama’atu Ahlis Sunnati Lidda’awati Wal Jihad, popularly known as Boko Haram,  has told journalists in a telephone exchange in Kano last night that Sokoto State will be their next target following arrest and imprisonment of their members.

Abul-Qaga said “You should avoid replication of the big attack in Kano State.

This is an open letter to the Emir of Sokoto (Sultan of Sokoto), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal and the Acting Governor of Sokoto State. Before we visited Kano, we had written an open letter to senior citizens there on the imperative of releasing our members but nobody cared to talk. Indeed, we sent three warnings to Kano before we struck.”

“What happened in Kano will be inevitable in Sokoto unless you (Sultan and others) intervene and ensure the immediate and unconditional release of our members who were specifically arrested in the city of Sokoto on Thursday. There is gross inconsistency in all the proclamations of the Nigerian leader. Our members are being trailed and killed on one hand, and on the other hand, some people are telling us to surrender our arms and come out. This is impossible.”

New Inspector General, Abubakar Loses Wife

Less than a week after he assumed office as acting Inspector General of office,the wife of the Mohammed Abubakar has passed on. It was gathered that Maryam Abubakar died on Monday morning in Kano. She died after a brief illness.

She fell ill on Sunday and was taken to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital where Doctors prescribed medication after which she was discharged. Burial arrangements were being put in place as of the time of filing this report.

Her husband Mohammed Dikko Abubakar resumed as the Acting Inspector General after Hafiz Ringim’s resignation last week.

She says people assume she is a slut but she insists the addiction means it is out of her control.

When she was 35 she noticed all her friends had begun to settle down, so she decided to begin dating younger men. This had the added benefit as they had the energy to keep up with her huge sexual demands.

She has even joined a specialist online dating website which helps her find men who can keep up with her high sex drive.

It was only when she hit 40, and her best friend turned her back on her did she finally confront her addiction.

'I know I’m a sex addict, but I can’t face getting professional help. Sex is the only thing that makes me feel good about myself. I guess when the men start saying no, I’ll stop having sex. I know some people must think I’m a terrible person, but believe me I’m not proud of myself.'

   The Director General of the National Sports Commission, Patrick Ekeji has reportedly been summoned by the House of Representatives over the Commission’s expenditures, including the allocation of N1.2 million for a Facebook account.

In a high profile investigation panel set up by the House of Representatives over allegations of financial misappropriation and abuse of office, Ekeji is expected to explain how the N3.7 billion that was advanced to the Commission for the 10th All Africa Games held in Maputo in 2011 was expended.

   He will also defend the spending of N182, 124,179,000 on the rehabilitation the National Stadium in Lagos, and another N117,875,820.95 on the Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (Liberty Stadium) Ibadan. 


   Ekeji is expected to provide a warrant of approval by President Goodluck Jonathan for him to expend the sum of N350,000,000.00 from the yet to be approved 2012 Budget for the London 2012 Olympic Game.

Nigeria's Boko Haram killed 935 people since 2009

(Reuters) - The Nigerian Islamist sect Boko Haram has killed at least 935 people since it launched an uprising in 2009, including more than 250 in the first weeks of this year, Human Rights Watch said on Tuesday.

Boko Haram, which means "Western education is sinful" in the Hausa language spoken in northern Nigeria, is loosely modeled on Afghanistan's Taliban. It has claimed responsibility for bombing churches, police stations, military facilities, banks and beer parlors in the mainly Muslim north of Nigeria.

The sect focuses its attacks mostly on the police, military and government, but has recently increased its attacks on Christian institutions. It says it is fighting enemies who have wronged its members through violence, arrests or economic neglect and corruption.

Bomb attacks and gun battles in Nigeria's second largest city, Kano, killed 186 people on January 20, in Boko Haram's most deadly attack to date. Gunfire was heard in Kano early on Tuesday, witnesses said.

"Boko Haram's attacks show a complete and utter disregard for human life," said Corinne Dufka, senior West Africa researcher at Human Rights Watch.

"The Nigerian authorities need to call a halt to this campaign of terror and bring to justice those responsible for planning and carrying out these reprehensible crimes."

The report said 550 people were killed in 115 separate attacks by Boko Haram last year, mostly in the far northeastern state of Borno, where the sect was founded in 2002.

Boko Haram has moved from drive-by shootings and petrol bombs to suicide attacks using large and increasingly sophisticated explosives. A suicide car bomb last year killed 25 people at the United Nations headquarters in the capital Abuja.

In July 2009 the sect launched an uprising in the northeast in which more than 800 people were killed in five days of fighting with security forces.

The sect originally said it wanted sharia (Islamic law) to be applied more widely across Nigeria.

President Goodluck Jonathan has been severely criticized for not getting a grip on a group he says has infiltrated the police, military and all areas of government.

"Jonathan's inability to respond effectively, or articulate a credible strategy, reinforces the growing perception of a deep leadership void in Abuja," London-based risk adviser Eurasia Group said in a research note on Tuesday.

"So far militarization of the region and strict curfews have only had limited effect and huge (military) spending outlays in 2012 offer little hope for a credible broader strategy."

Drug: 1,000 Nigerian youths detained in Chinese prisons.

Abeg o my people if you're contemplating on carrying drugs to China or any other country, please change your mind now because the chances of your not getting caught is slim. 
Although report details only the number of Nigerians wasting away in China, there are lot of Nigerians facing execution while others chances of being released is 20% as against 80%.

OVER 1,000 Nigerian youths are being detained at various prisons in China for various drug related offences.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, at the weekend, the Minister of Youths Development, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, said he had already written to the government of China to have the details of their offences.

He said the Federal Government intended to use the detail of the offence as a form of campaign to discourage Nigerian youths from embarking on drug trafficking business.

"This is a very serious matter. I have written to the government of China and I am planning to actually travel there on behalf of the Federal Government to have the details of their cases," he said.


The minister, who said that many Nigerian youths who indulged in drug trafficking business in a bid to get rich quick were not always aware of the dire consequences and the risks involved, added that "The risks far deplete the benefits. In fact, there is no benefit.

Whoever gets involved will get caught sooner than later and whatever that might have been acquired will go with it. So, where is the benefit?," he asked rhetorically.

"The only way to good living is to be involved in legitimate business whereby nobody is running after you for committing an offence. There is nothing like getting rich quick and there is no short cut to it," he said.

However, the minister commended the new idea of Lagos State government, whereby those found guilty for committing drug-related offences were made to serve the community, instead of sending them to prisons.

20 - 40 Bomb Blasts In Kano, Nigeria

This is one sensitibe issue that bothers the life of every Nigerian whether local or in diaspora of which I'm not excluded.
 I have received several phone calls and on BBM on my opinion relating to the recent bomb blasts in the country. But the recent attacks is so heart breaking and so inhuman. 

According to reports, close to 20 explosions occurred in the biggest Northern Nigerian city of Kano some hours ago.

As we learnt, the federal police headquarters in the accient city was hit by by the deadly blasts. It was confirmed that other police buildings in the city were hit by the bomb blast.

Reports say that some police officers have taken to their heels in fear of the attacks.

This attack is coming just when the prime suspect of Christmas Day bombing of St Theresa Catholic Church in Niger State, Kabir Soloto was reported to have fled from the police net. There have been conflicting reports that he has been re-arrested by the police yesterday but another report claiming the Nigerian police has placed a 50million naira on him, after he was declared wanted by the police.

According to SaharaReporters more than 170 people perished in multiple explosions while disclosing that the exact death toll is yet to be determined as officials had not visited some of the sites where the attacks took place.

This attack is also the first to happen after a break from the fuel subsidy removal protests throughout the country last week.

Multiple Bomb Blasts Rocks Kano City

Kano, Nigeria’s second-largest city, was rocked by multiple bomb blasts on Friday, raising fears that an Islamist insurrection concentrated in remote northeastern parts of the country is spreading across the predominately Muslim north.

Residents of the sprawling ancient city said they heard at least 20 separate blasts, and that there were shoot-outs in some neighbourhoods. Motorists struggled to head home.

Police headquarters in the city was targeted in one attack, according to police spokesmen. Police said a separate bomb hit the passport office, Reuters reported. There was no word initially on the number of casualties.

The fresh violence puts additional pressure on President Goodluck Jonathan’s beleaguered administration, which was forced this week to reinstate partially a fuel subsidy following nationwide protests and a general strike that threatened oil production.

Islamist militants battling the security forces and seeking to force wider implementation of Islamic law have stepped up attacks on government and Christian targets since Christmas when at least 37 people were killed in an attack on a Catholic church.

The increasing sophistication and co-ordination of their campaign since UN headquarters in the capital were targeted last August have cemented concern that Boko Haram militants are receiving training, financing and other assistance from global jihadist networks further afield, including al-Qaeda. Mr Jonathan warned recently that his government and security forces have been infiltrated by the sect.

There is growing speculation in Nigeria that the Boko Haram agenda has been hijacked by other political factions seeking to undermine the government and divide the fragile federation along religious and ethnic lines.

A Reuters witness at the scene of the police headquarters blast saw smoke billowing out of the building, windows blown out and the roof collapsed. Firefighters had sprayed the roof with a hose to try to douse the flames.

Witnesses said the bomber pulled up to the building on a motorbike then got off and ran at it holding a bag.

“We tried to stop him but he ran in forcefully with his bag. All of a sudden there was a blast. You can see for yourself: the building is damaged,” said a policeman at the scene.

The two Burkinabe men, aged 33 and 22, and the sexagenarian Nigerian woman, were sentenced Wednesday to jail terms ranging from three to 18 months, the head of legal affairs at the environment ministry, Antoine Kabore, said.

“These sentences should serve as an example to all those who target the protected species of our country,” Kabore told reporters.

The Nigerian woman, longtime Burkina resident Olutayo Kuduratou, was reportedly planning to smuggle them back to her native country where they are used for fetishes and voodoo rites

According to Efya, it would be hypocritical to say she was not aware that some girls now found it trendy to get all dolled up without wearing panties. News-One has gathered that the girls call that type of dressing 'ready to fight'.

Efya said it would be difficult to explain why her fellow ladies chose not to wear panties when they dress up because she had never tried that in her entire life. “Sometimes girls don't wear panties but I haven't done it before though it is not a big deal. Many girls do it,” Efya added.

2 cattle rearers kill police officer

COMMOTION broke out in Asaba yesterday evening  as two Hausa/Fulani cattle rearers allegedly stabbed a policeman to death  at the heat of argument with daggers.
The incident took place at about 6. 15 pm, yesterday along the Direct Labour Agency DLC road Asaba.

At the heat of the commotion, the policeman was  stabbed  in the stomach.
Eyewitness who simply gave his name as Charles told Vanguard that “when the officer was bleeding slumped, many people felt he has died and lynched the two of them instantly.

When this reporter visited the Police ‘A’ Division, a large crowed gathered while two corpses were seen on the ground.
It was not immediately ascertained if the stabbed policeman has died or hospitalized.
Contacted, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mr. Charles Muka said “about the incident two Hausa/ Fulanis attacked a policeman with dagger and mob lynched the two of them.

But that policeman’s identity was yet to be known , we don’t know if he is from this command and whether is dead or the hospital he is”.

Nollywood actor, David Ihezie dies

Nollywood has started this year again on a sad note as it lost one of its veteran actors, David Ihezie, to the pangs of death yesterday, in Enugu.

The Enugu State based actor, who had starred in several movies, died in his home after protracted illness.

Chairman, Enugu State chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Ofiafulugu Mbaka, confirmed the death of the prolific actor to Vanguard yesterday.

According to Mbaka, “Ihezie’s death is another big loss to the entertainment sector and Nigeria as a whole. I was made to understand that he had been sick before he finally passed on.

Obviously, nobody would be happy when somebody dies. It’s shocking and there is nothing anyone can do.” Ihezie’s corpse has since been deposited at Ifem Medical centre, Enugu.

Nigeria Police Issue 50 million naira ($309,789) for Re-Arrest of Bombing Suspect

This is a controversial issue in Nigeria at the moment as lot of reports are hitting the blogosphere about the rearrest of the Christmas day bomb suspect in Madalla, Niger State of North-central Nigeria. 
However, this report would sound contradictory especially to those of us who had earlier read or heard about the rearrest but know ye that anything can happen in Africa's most populous black nation, Nigeria.

The government ultimatum given to Nigeria’s inspector general of police expires today. President Goodluck Jonathan gave Hafiz Ringhim until Friday to re-arrest the alleged mastermind of the bombing of a Catholic church on Christmas Day, or lose his job.

Kabiru Sokoto was being escorted to another police station outside Abuja on January 18 when his gang members attacked and freed him. The police commissioner who ordered the transfer has been suspended, and police say they are investigating the incident.

The president’s ultimatum, analysts say, forced Ringhim to issue a 50 million naira ($309,789) bounty for the arrest of Sokoto, the suspect of the December attack.

Isn't this an innovative business idea? Arrest him, release him and then place money for the rearrest, disburse money from the federal account, money go enter account, account no get trace, somebody becomes rich??? hmmm... well just continue reading...

Police spokesman Olusola Amore says his organization is working closely with other security agencies to re-arrest the suspect.

“The inspector general of police has directed that the suspect Kabiru Omar alias Kabiru Sokoto be declared wanted and a reward of 50 million Naira has been placed on his head,” said Amore. “Anybody who gives useful information that will lead to the arrest of Kabiru Sokoto will be given the 50 million Naira.”

Some security analysts say the escaped bombing suspect might have fled Nigeria to any of the neighboring countries en route to Europe.

But Amore said the police have redoubled efforts to re-arrest him.

He also said Nigeria is working with other police institutions in West Africa as well as Interpol to find the suspect.

“We have on information to all members of the West African police organizations, and all members of the Nigeria police and other security agencies, have been alerted all around the country. And they are watching closely the borders while efforts are on to try to get Kabiru,” said Amore.

Some Nigerians have expressed disappointment following Sokoto’s escape. They said the country’s security agencies have abdicated their responsibilities to protect life and property. But, Amore said the police have yet to be credited for its successes.

“If you arrest a criminal or terrorist one every day for 364 days and there is a mistake and one should escape on the 365^th day, the tendency is that people will forget the 364 terrorists or armed robbers we have arrested but [focus] on the one that escaped,” said Amore. “We are doing our best and those who are benefiting from our services know that at least the Nigeria police have been doing its utmost best to meet security challenges.”

This is a report that totally tore my heart apart. Its saddening to read what a democratically elected government under the current leadership of our President who once had no shoes is doing to the impoverished populace.

From an independent investigations, I don’t think the leadership in Nigeria is ready to tackle corruption, if the President and executive is actually serious about this, the presidency will not include the purchase of two aircrafts in addition to the eight which he already has in his fleet.

“One of the items of expenditure in the current budget is the purchase of two more aircraft to bring the presidential fleet to over 10. What does the President need a fleet of aircraft for?

“How can Nigerians make sacrifices if the leaders are unwilling to sacrifice their exorbitant lifestyle? In any case, how many aircraft has the Queen of England?

“The British Prime Minister does not have any jet, he uses the British Airways. President Barack Obama pays for his food (unless when hosting a state banquet) and even pays rent on his official residence.”

It was around may of last year that Nigeria’s N7Bn Presidential Jet was Banned From Flying Worldwide. That is almost 70 days after the new N7.65bn presidential jet, Falcon 7X, touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, from the manufacturer’s factory in France, Dassault Aviation, France European authorities have banned the jet from flying in Europe and other parts of the world over safety issues.

Isn't this unfair against the already poverty stricken impoverished common man???

19-year-old Nigerian Killed In A Bloody Clashes Between African Economic Migrants In Greece

A 19-year-old Nigerian was killed late Wednesday and two other compatriots were injured in the Toumba district of Thessaloniki in a bloody incident among African economic migrants.

The bloody incident, the reasons for which remain unknown, occurred at a mini-market selling traditional African products.

According to police two Africans entered the shop, owned by a Nigerian, and after a verbal argument started fighting with four other Nigerians, resulting in the fatal injury of the 19-year-old, possibly with a sickle, in the chest, and the injury of two other men.

The injured, who are reported as being out of danger, are hospitalised under guard at a Thessaloniki hospital.

Woman Defiles 7-yrs-old Girl To Prove Her Love For Her Married Boyfriend

The sickness that exists in this world is so beyond me sometimes I truly can’t fully wrap my head round it. A 26 year old woman Margaret Ann O’Neill has admitted to having s*x with a 7 year old girl – and her reason? Apparently her married boyfriend told her the only way he would leave his wife for her is if she did this sickening act and taped it for him!

She told police she performed oral s*x on the girl to satisfy the ‘sexual appetite’ of her married lover Christopher Smith in an attempt to show Smith how much she loved him after he promised to leave his wife for her.

Smith himself was arrested on December 5th after another woman he was having an affair with called police when he asked her to have s*x with the same abused seven year old.

Police seized his cell phone and found video footage of him having s*x with the same seven-year-old girl. They also found footage of Margaret O’Neill performing oral s*x on the child.

Investigators revealed Smith’s wife told them she found a video of him abusing a child in February – but chose not to alert authorities because she ‘wanted to protect’ the child’s family.

In a bid to get further evidence against Smith they set up a sting operation and recorded him talking about abusing children.

O’Neill was booked into the Orange County Jail on five counts of s*xual battery on a child younger than 12 and three counts of criminal conspiracy to commit s*xual battery.

Smith has been charged with 24 counts of s*xual battery on a child younger than 12, lewd or lascivious molestation and conspiracy to commit s*xual battery.

We all know what happens to child abusers in jail. I hope he is sodomized routinely and consistently till he dies. As for O’Neill she deserves to be hanged. Sick, disgusting people.

Mother Stabs 12 year Old Son To Death

Imagine after watching a late night horror movie then waking up in the deep of night to behold your mum standing in front of you with a knife ready to stab you to the yonder... That's the exact replica of what the story you're about to read depicts.

A mother has reportedly killed her 12-year-old son, confessing that she was a member of a secret cult.

The incident took place at Effurun, Delta State. As a result of the action, the woman is currently being interrogated by the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, at the state police command’s headquarters, Asaba.

State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Charles Muka, told Vanguard in Asaba, yesterday, that “at about 1830 hours on January 2, 2012, the woman (names withheld) stabbed her son, Precious, with a broken bottle. The boy died on the way to hospital. The suspect ran away after the incident but was later arrested. She confessed being a secret cult member and admitted killing her son.”

Muka also said a young man was also being interrogated for killing his 80-year-old father.

He said: “This other incident happened at Burutu, where a 30-year-old man killed his father, aged 80, with a matchete over squabble concerning some fish he (son) had kept for himself.

“We are also investigating the matter and as soon as we conclude investigation, the suspects would be charged to court.”

At this juncture i would like to express that these is in no way to further elevate your motive of suspicion whatsoever especially of those relating to "My mum is a witch." If you suspect your mum of witchcraft please bring her to me because I'm in dire need of a mum.

Lifelike Steve Jobs Doll Pulled From Market

Have you heard this story? Well I saw it on CNN website that one Chinco company made a doll that looks exactly like Steve Jobs, CEO co-founder of Apple and they want to market it for almost N15,000. Like they say,"God made the heaven and the earth, every other thing is made in China." Funny enough the market don dey ground repete. Some people self don pay money down for their own package.

A Chinese firm scrapped plans to sell a lifelike doll of Steve Jobs after his family and Apple lawyers objected.

In Icons said in a statement they "have not overstepped any legal boundaries", but felt a "heartfelt sensitivity" to the feelings of the Jobs family.

The figurine was intended as a tribute to the Apple founder, and came with accessories such as a mock iPhone, turtleneck and New Balance sneakers.

In Icons has offered a refund to customers who had pre-ordered a doll.

The figurine, which was 12in (30.5cm) long and was to sell at $99.99 (£65), had realistic facial features that the company says had been reworked many times to achieve a lifelike appearance.

The toy-maker had recently begun marketing the figurine in January and planned to begin shipping in February.

"We understand that this decision will cause many of the fans disappointment, but please forgive us as there is no other alternative unless to have the blessing from the Steve Jobs family," an announcement on the company website said.

The company added that the decision had been made in the face of "immense pressure from the lawyers of Apple and Steve Jobs' family".

Other tributes have been made to honour Steve Jobs since his death. The Recording Academy posthumously awarded him a Grammy to mark his contribution to the music industry.

A bronze statue of Jobs has been erected in Budapest, Hungary after it was commissioned by software company Graphisoft.

The founder of Apple died on 5 October at the age of 56, after suffering from pancreatic cancer.

   It was reported that Mr Oronto Douglas who was representing the president held a closed door meeting with the Nollywood stars last friday at the Eko Hotels and suites and it was concluded by giving each of them N200,000 in order to support the recent removal of fuel subsidy .

    Nollywood star actress, Rita Dominic who is currently on set of a movie was attacked by her fans on twitter for selling her soul because of the meager amount but she has denied the report.

She tweeted:200,000 is now my going price eh!Na wa o, i thank God i ve finished the major scenes in this movie , She replied her fans and concluded with ,The need to earn money is just making people write all sorts on the net but the fact that some of you actually believe these things !!SMH.
