After 59 days of inactivity in universities across the country, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), today, announced the suspension of its industrial action with immediate effect.
Negotiations between the Federal Government’s representatives and ASUU collapsed twice in the last quarter of 2011.
The National Executive of the union has directed that all university lecturers should go back to work with effect from Thursday February 2, 2012.
ASUU President, Prof Ukachukwu Awuzie is expected to address a press conference.
This is one report that I'll tag "bad news in good news". Reason been that things like these aren't supposed to be allowed to happen in the first place. Kangaroo education, 2 steps forward 4 steps backward.
