Lagos Carnival "Eko 4 Show" to hold on April 9

Oya Lagos, LETS GO THERE!!!

The 2012 edition of the annual Lagos Carnival celebrations has been slated for Monday, April 9, 2012.

The carnival which is in its third year is as usual the highest point of the Lagos Black Heritage Week and has been themed ‘Eko4Show’.

Over 12,000 participants are expected this year, all dressed in beautifully coloured costumes and parading the streets of Falomo, through to Ikoyi, Lagos Island and finally Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) where they’ll be welcomed by the Lagos State governor and other dignitaries.

Another gist reaching me confims that Top Nigerian artistes Abolore Akande ( 9ice ), Eldee and Whizkid  are billed to entertain Lagosians at this year’s edition of the Lagos Carnival scheduled to hold on  Monday, April 9 with the theme Eko for2 Show.

Speaking at a press conference , the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism and Inter-governmental Relations, Mr. Disun Holloway, said the Lagos Carnival was part of the efforts by the current administration to give Lagos  a soul.

He said: “The essence is to put a soul into the city. A city without a soul is not a city. What makes up a city are the various cultural events.”

So, STAND UP LAGOS!!! For our very own cultural carnival...it's proudly NAIJA.

If u will be coming to the event please let me know so we can meet under the Mango tree, opposite Iya Basira's fast food joint. ASAP!!!
